St.Helens First Team 21-man squad announcement is sponsored by St Helens Flooring.

The Saints head to the Leigh Sports Village for this Round 26 match in the Betfred Super League, with just two rounds of action remaining in The Final Charge towards the Play-Offs.

Wellens’ men will be fired up and looking to return to winning ways following two tough weeks – firstly away against Hull KR, followed by a home fixture against Wigan last time out.

As the regular season nears its conclusion, the Red V are fighting to secure the highest possible position ahead of the knockout stages of the Play-Offs. Currently sitting fifth, St.Helens have already confirmed their place in the top six, and now face the side just above them in fourth.

The Leopards have secured their third successive season of Play-Off rugby, and if victorious over the Saints on Friday night, it would guarantee their first-ever home Super League Play-Off fixture.

Our men also have extra motivation to get one back over our hosts. Back in July, the Saints and Leigh met in a tight contest which went the way of the visitors, 4–16.

There are always fireworks when the Saints and the Leopards meet – and this upcoming clash promises to be another must-watch encounter!

Head Coach Paul Wellens is holding his weekly press conference later on this afternoon, and will give the latest updates and news on his squad. Saints TV subscribers will be able to watch the conference back in full.

📰 SQUAD NEWS

Wellens makes just three changes to the squad he named for last week’s derby against Wigan, with young Saints Leon Cowen, Jake Davies and Cole Marsh stepping out of the 21-man squad.

Jon Bennison has been recalled from his loan with Widnes Vikings, George Delaney is back available for selection following a one-match suspension, and new loan signing Shane Wright is named in the team for the first time since joining the Club at the end of August on a deal until the end of 2025. The tall back-rower has been stepping up his injury rehab since arriving at the Totally Wicked Stadium, and is now in contention to make his official St.Helens debut.

The next man to debut for the Saints will become the 1,300th Men’s player to feature for our club.
