‘We will ban import of goods from settlements’

Dutch Foreign Minister David Van Weel announced that the country plans to “ban the import of goods produced in settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.” In a speech to parliament, he said this comes against the backdrop of “Israel’s plans to annex the West Bank and launch an offensive in Gaza.” The move follows the ban on Ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich from entering Dutch territory, citing “violence against Palestinians and calls for ‘ethnic cleansing’ of Gaza.”
