The stars are out tonight for the 77th Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for the 77th Emmy Awards.
Stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze is hosting tonight’s show, which is celebrating the best of the 2024-25 television season.
So far, Severance, Adolescence, Hacks and The Studio are among the early award winners.
The nominees were announced in July, and Apple TV+’s Severance leads the pack with a total of 27 Emmy nominations. HBO Max’s The Penguin follows closely behind with 24 total nominations, and tied for third most nods are The White Lotus and The Studio, each with a total of 23 nominations. As an Emmy Awards newcomer, The Studio made history with the most-nominated freshman comedy, surpassing Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. Also new to the Emmy Awards scene is The Pitt, which made an impression with 13 Emmy nominations for its first year.
In terms of networks and streaming services, HBO Max leads this year with 142 total nominations, which is a new record for the service. Meanwhile, Netflix has 120 nods, and Apple TV+ has earned 81 nominations, a bulk of them being for Severance and The Studio.
