While some of Liverpool’s big money summer signings have experienced a strong start to life at Anfield, one of the players brought in has struggled to adapt to his new surroundings in the first few games of the season.
Milos Kerkez had an incredible season at Bournemouth in 2024/25, being named in the PFA Team of the Year for his efforts. He would also convince Liverpool to shell out a fee of £40million to bring him to Merseyside during the off-season.
However, the player has not performed well in his first few games for the club. That continued once again this afternoon, with the Hungarian substituted in the first half of the game against Burnley.
He would be booked early in the game for a dive in the Burnley penalty area, going on to make a couple more poor fouls. Arne Slot would withdraw the player due to a risk of a red card.

Roy Keane Rubbishes Excuses For Poor Dive From Liverpool Star
While many football fans will generally sympathise with a player who is substituted before halftime, Roy Keane felt that the player had been the architect of his own downfall on this occasion.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he would not accept the excuses from present Dave Jones for the dive produced by Kerkez in the game at Turf Moor.
“No, no, be quiet Dave!” 😅

Keane: He obviously got a yellow card for a crazy dive, then he makes a foul towards the halfway line. He knows that Burnley are playing on the counterattack and if he makes another mistake (he could be sent off).
This is good movement, but why he’s looking to go down, obviously VAR and the referee is looking at it.
Jones: Do you think he’s just a young player trying to make his way at a new club, trying to make a big impression?
Keane: No, no. Be quiet Dave. Be quiet. He’s making a big impression alright.
The Irishman certainly did not have any sympathy for the Liverpool player.
While you would expect Milos Kerkez to become a key player for the Premier League champions, it has not been an easy start for him at Anfield.
