The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards brought laughs, teary acceptance speeches and plenty of Seth Rogan. The Canadian actor was a mainstay on the Emmys stage, taking home an impressive 13 awards for his Apple TV+ series The Studio. Colin Farrell’s HBO limited series The Penguin earned nine awards while Severence, which was nominated for 27 awards, nabbed eight in total.
The 2025 Emmy Awards may be over, but there’s still two awards left to hand out: best and worst dressed. Following Sunday’s red carpet, our team of editors put it to a vote, and asked Yahoo Canada readers to help us choose a red carpet winner — and loser.
Keep reading to see who our readers dubbed the best and worst dressed from the 2025 Emmys.
BEST: Catherine Zeta-Jones

Zeta-Jones hit the Emmys red carpet in a black sequin gown by Syrian-born designer, Yara Shoemaker. The 56-year-old star channelled her Wednesday character Morticia Addams with her ensemble that featured a glamorous corseted bodice with mesh panels and floral appliqués and a scalloped neckline.

Zeta-Jones kept her signature dark tresses in loose waves with a smokey eye and dark mauve lip. She added sparkle by sporting wore more than 35 carats of diamonds, including statement chandelier earrings by Stephen Silver.
The look was a hit with Yahoo Canada readers, earning 44 per cent of reader votes.
RUNNER-UP: Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez’s custom Louis Vuitton look couldn’t quite nab the title of best dressed from Zeta-Jones. The Only Murders in the Building actress’s scarlet asymmetrical halter dress with flowing train came in second place, with 33 per cent of Yahoo Canada readers votes.

Gomez paired the look with a classic ponytail that showed off her diamond and ruby earrings and matching rings from Tiffany & Co.. Of course, the Rare Beauty founder wore her own makeup brand for the event, but opted against a matching red pout. Instead, Gomez’s makeup artist Hung Vanggo used a subtle pink shade of lipstick from his own makeup line, which allowed the dress to stand out.
WORST: Parker Posey

Yahoo Canada readers weren’t fans of Posey’s orchid coloured Valentino gown. The look, which featured ruffles, lace and a fur-trimmed capelet, earned 47 per cent of reader votes to unfortunately earn the title of worst dressed.

The White Lotus star accessorized the look with a statement emerald and diamond necklace, but unfortunately not even the show-stopping jewels could save this look.
RUNNER-UP: Lainey Wilson

Y’all weren’t a fan of Wilson’s Zuhair Murad look and you let us know it! The two-piece ensemble earned 19 per cent of Yahoo Canada reader votes, making it the runner-up for worst look of the evening. The country singer’s trademark stetson isn’t necessarily the issue with this ensemble. The look is disjointed and feels as though it should be either a white halter dress with draping or a sequinned jumpsuit or preferably a gown.

The talented country singer has the potential to blend her unique style with elevated red carpet attire — she’s just not quite there in our opinion.
