The Sports Minister has expressed frustration with the Football Association of Ireland’s decision to pull out of a planned meeting with an Oireachtas sport committee next week to discuss safeguarding issues.

On Friday the FAI wrote to the committee to say it was pulling out of Wednesday’s meeting due to concerns that the politicians would seek to ask the FAI about specific cases that are subject to an ongoing garda investigation.
