In his speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump sought to temper – and perhaps even halt – the so-called diplomatic tsunami, a wave of countries recognizing a Palestinian state. What now lies ahead of that “tsunami” is an entirely different test: taking concrete steps to salvage what remains of the Palestinian national project.
