York Regional Police and several neighbours tell Global News a Vaughan, Ont., home that was the target of a shooting early Wednesday was also shot at earlier this month.

At around 3:39 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to reports of shots fired at a residence on Farrell Road near Via Romano Boulevard, in the area of Bathurst Street and Major Mackenzie Drive.

Police said there were no injuries reported but that officers in the area are collecting evidence and canvassing for witnesses.

The suspects also fled prior to officers arriving. Police said witnesses saw a silver or white SUV fleeing the area.

Police and neighbours said the house was also targeted in a shooting on Sept. 6, when the house was shot at multiple times at around 6:35 a.m. There were no injuries reported at that time either.

York Regional Police also said in an update on Wednesday afternoon that there was a second shooting nearby on Allison Ann Way, about a two minute drive from Farrell Road. There were no injuries in that shooting, and the calls came in at around the same time.

“It’s important to understand these incidents are targeted between specific individuals. I can’t get into the details of that, but they are not random,” said media relations officer PC Lisa Moskaluk.

In total, Moskaluk there have been six shootings in the month of September at four different addresses in Vaughan. Two of the homes have been targeted twice, she said.

“All are being linked, and are considered as I say targeted,” Moskaluk said.

She noted one arrest has been made in one of the shootings that occurred Sept. 10 on Lady Angela Lane. A 23-year-old man is in custody.

Moskaluk confirmed there is relationship to the tow truck industry with one of the victims, but would not elaborate as an investigation is underway.

“These criminal groups, they’re not just one person. There is a larger criminal organization at play here,” she said.
