An American singer has been removed from the lineup of an Australian music festival after the decomposed remains of a teenage girl were found in the boot of his car.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was due to perform at Spilt Milk in Ballarat, Perth, Canberra and the Gold Coast in December.
Last week the festival quietly removed his name from its website and marketing and on Thursday morning confirmed he would no longer be on the lineup.
“We can now confirm d4vd will not perform at Spilt Milk and we are working on a replacement booking which we’ll announce as soon as its finalised.”
The remains of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas were discovered on September 8 in the boot of the singer’s Tesla at a Los Angeles impound lot.
Police received a call about a foul odor coming from the vehicle.
Rivas had been missing since April 2024 when she was aged 13.
Her body “was found severely decomposed,” the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Riva’s cause of death has not been determined.
The singer, behind the popular TikTok songs ‘Romantic Homicide’ and ‘Here With Me’, has cancelled the remaining dates of his US tour as well as multiple stops on his upcoming European tour.
A spokesperson for d4vd said he was fully cooperating with police.
Kendrick Lamar is headling Spilt Milk alongside Doechii, Sara Landry, Dominic Fike and Schoolboy Q.
Sombr, Nessa Barrett, Ninajirachi and Rebecca Black are also on the lineup.
The festival begins in Ballarat on December 6.
