Nottingham Forest are exploring a number of deals in the summer transfer market.

After Anthony Elanga’s £60m transfer to Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest have a substantial budget at their disposal.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been eyeing Baris Alper Yilmaz as a potential replacement for Elanga, and it’s understood a £26m bid is being lined up by Evangelos Marinakis and his chiefs.

Bologna’s Dan Ndoye has also been linked to the City Ground, but there is significant competition from Napoli.

Forest are pressing ahead for Yoane Wissa, too, and there has been a fresh development on his situation.

Nottingham Forest have a long-standing interest in Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa, having tried to sign him during the January transfer window.

Ultimately, Forest didn’t meet his £40m valuation, but they’ve not given up hope as they remain in the mix to land his signature this summer.

However, it’s now becoming pretty evident that a deal is unlikely to materialise, as Fabrizio Romano has reiterated that Wissa is keen to join Newcastle United.

The 28-year-old wants the chance to play in the Champions League, which Forest can’t offer, so Espirito Santo may have to look elsewhere now.

Forest could turn to Christopher Nkunku

With the Wissa deal now looking increasingly unlikely, Forest could turn their attention to Christopher Nkunku.

Nkunku is emerging as a surprise target for the Tricky Trees and his potential arrival would certainly signal a statement of intent.

Forest fans would love Nkunku at the City Ground, however, there are some concerns around the feasibility of the transfer.

Chelsea forked out £52m to sign the French attacker and according to Spotrac, he earns around £195,000-a-week.

So, it’d take a big financial commitment to sign the 27-year-old.
