The disgraced former Sky Sports presenter has pointed to Bayer Leverkusen’s swift axing of Erik Ten Hag as an example to followRichard Keys and Russell Martin

Disgraced former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys has urged Rangers to “correct their stupidity” over “chancer” Russell Martin.

The pressure has been piled back on the Ibrox boss after the Light Blues kicked off their Europa League campaign a 1-0 home defeat to Genk.

Former Celtic striker Oh netted the only goal of the game to rub salt in the wounds.

Now Gers face the humiliation of going BOTTOM of the Scottish Premiership table ahead of their trip to Livingston on Sunday.

A big win for basement boys Aberdeen over Motherwell could see them leapfrog Rangers on goal difference.

However, the Ibrox club could also launch themselves into the top half with a win depending on how Saturday’s results go.

Either way, Keys, now working for BeIn Sports in the Middle East, thinks it’s obvious Martin is in the wrong move and it’s well past time to swing the axe.

He posted on X: “There’s only one thing worse than a Board appointing a chancer who is clearly the wrong man – and that’s stubbornly hanging onto him. What are the owners at Rangers thinking? At least Leverkusen acted decisively to correct their stupidity.”

Leverkusen sacked former Man Utd boss Erik Ten Hag after just two Bundesliga games in charge.

The ex-Old Trafford manager was only appointed by the Germans in the summer, but club chiefs had seen enough to give him the bullet with the season still in it’s infancy.
