Israeli troops pushed deep into Gaza City on Sunday, ahead of a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu focused on ending the war in the Palestinian territory.
Israeli tanks and military vehicles advanced to al-Nasser street, a main road in the center of the city, a few hundred meters way from the al-Shifa hospital, according to witness accounts and social media footage. Israel has been slowly advancing its incursion into Gaza City — which it sees as the last key stronghold of Hamas — over the past several weeks.
