“We have previously had to transport our own pets to Auckland for urgent, specialist care by the wonderful team at ARC. We think Wellingtonians and their pets deserve to have a facility of this calibre close to home, that they can call on when the need arises.”
Sir Peter Jackson is planning a purpose-built specialist veterinary hospital in Miramar.
The project is due to be completed in early 2028 and is part of the pair’s “broader vision to strengthen Miramar as a thriving hub of creative and commercial enterprise”.
Mathis and Park said the couple have been significant supporters of their Auckland operations and they expect this new development to be “world class”.
WingNut PM, Jackson’s property company behind the development, is registered to 141 Park Rd, Miramar.
In recent years, Jackson has bought tens of millions of dollars worth of commercial property in the area.
The Herald earlier this year revealed he has purchased an old school campus in the neighbourhood.
Last year it was revealed interests associated with Jackson and Walsh spent $105 million buying a large piece of land near the city’s airport in Lyall Bay.

There are rumours it could be the new site for a long-planned movie museum.
Jackson and Walsh also purchased land at Shelly Bay in 2023 to restore its “natural beauty” and stop a controversial $500m housing development planned there.
In June it was revealed Jackson had sought consent to create a museum and exhibition space as well as residential accommodation in a historic building on the Shelly Bay site.
