A Foodstuffs spokesperson told the Herald customers always expect the label to match what’s in the pack.
“In this case, a human error meant the wrong label was applied, which has now been fixed,” the spokesperson said.

“A butchery specialist is working with the store to ensure product descriptions are accurate in future. We’re sorry for the mistake and any confusion it caused.”
Stuff reported one person wrote on the Reddit post, “That’s not ‘lamb pieces bone in’, that’s ‘bone pieces, lamb out’”, while another said, “We used to throw those away a few years ago in the butchery.”
Another commenter said, “Crazy price, considering I bought some lamb chops this week for around $16/kg from a supermarket”.
