Taylor Swift’s ‘Life of a Showgirl’ album broke multiple records on the first day of its release.

Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl officially dropped at midnight on October 3, and it has since been a topic of discussion on social media. The album, which contains 12 tracks, reportedly crashed Spotify after many rushed to the platform to listen to the songs. The latest album has also broken several records on Spotify on its first day.

“On October 3rd, Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2025 so far,” read a tweet on the official X profile of Spotify.

In a blog, Spotify mentioned another record involving a “pre-saved album”. Swift’s latest album surpassed “6 million pre-saves and broke the record previously held by the Tortured Poets Department.”

The tracks on the 14-time Grammy winner’s latest album are Eldest Daughter, Father Figure, Elizabeth Taylor, Cancelled, Ruin The Friendship, The Life Of A Showgirl, Wood, Wi$h Li$t, Honey, The Fate of Ophelia, Actually Romantic, and Opalite.

Spotify mentioned that the new album broke a record regarding individual tracks. The platform tweeted, “The Life of a Record-Breaker. On October 3rd, 2025, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ became the most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify history.”

How did social media react?

The records left people with mixed reactions. An individual wrote, “Of course, this album already completely dominates my Spotify Wrapped. It’s October 3rd, and I’m pretty sure we can all agree ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ has officially won the year.” Another argued, “These stats are far less impressive when her fans openly admit to leaving her stuff open and streaming on silent just to run the numbers up.”
