Controversial former Labor leader Mark Latham has been escorted from a members-only restaurant at Royal Randwick Racecourse by police officers.Â
In a photo obtained by the Daily Telegraph, Latham is seen walking out of the Grand View Restaurant flanked by two police officers on Saturday afternoon.Â
It’s understood the 64-year-old was allegedly asked to leave by management, who then contacted police.Â
The Grand View restaurant is managed by the Australian Turf Club (ATC), who previously issued Latham with a suspended sentence.Â
He then resigned his membership, meaning he is not permitted to be on the grounds.Â
A spokesman for the ATC said Mr Latham had been asked to leave because he had been banned from NSW racetracks.
‘We can confirm an incident occurred regarding a former member who had been subject to disciplinary proceedings,’ he told the Daily Telegraph.Â
‘He was asked to leave the racecourse.

Daily Mail has contacted Latham for comment.Â
Latham resigned his membership in June, after the ATC argued he had broken the conditions of the suspended sentence that prohibited him from criticising the club.
He took to X to slam the ATC for its ‘lousy customer service, incompetent management and a complete lack of collegiality’.
‘In all honesty, it’s not much of a club for the money we pay,’ he said.Â
‘I would not have renewed my membership anyway, so this act of spite simply brings it forward.’
The ATC recently passed a resolution that banned suspended members from attending the races during their suspension period.Â
Latham led Labor between 2003 and 2005 and currently sits as an independent in the NSW upper house.Â
