A man is facing murder charges in the shooting deaths of two family members Tuesday in Bath, New Hampshire.

Police responded to a Tyler Way home around 1:15 p.m. after a report that shots had been fired, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office said. Two women were found dead from gunshot wounds.

The women were later identified as 67-year-old Cindy Moody and her 39-year-old daughter, Kristal Moody, authorities said.

Cindy Moody’s brother-in-law, 73-year-old Charles Readey, was found at the home with a gun, according to prosecutors. He was detained, and an arrest warrant was issued charging him with two counts of second-degree murder.

Prosecutors said Tuesday night that Readey would be arraigned, but did not give a timetable. Autopsies will be conducted on both victims Wednesday.

Bath is a Grafton County town of about 1,000 people between the Connecticut River and White Mountains.
