Dolly Parton’s sister has asked fans to send their love and prayers to the legendary music icon, as she battles a mysterious health condition yet to be made public.
Parton, who has been writing and performing chart-topping hits since the 1960s, was forced to postpone six shows of her Las Vegas residency last month due to her poor health.
Parton’s sister Freida posted about her health on Tuesday, US time, asking for love and support from Dolly’s worldwide fanbase.

“Last night, I was up all-night praying for my sister, Dolly,” Frieda, 68, wrote on Facebook.
“Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.
“She’s strong, she’s loved.
“And with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you”
Frieda shared a photo of a glamorous looking Dolly in a prayer steeple, looking up to the heavens.
A number of fans reacted with heartfelt messages for Parton.
“I am sending so much love and light to Dolly right now. She is a national treasure and the world needs her more than ever,” one fan wrote on Facebook, echoing millions worldwide.
“Sending prayers for the most talented woman in the industry. She has been a wonderful part of my entire life being from outside her hometown, a connection is there. May she feel God’s blessing flowing over her and healing her heart and soul,” another wrote.
Another continued: “One of the biggest hearts to ever grace a stage or an industry. Absolutely love Dolly! Storming the heavens with prayer that you will be completely healed and soon!!”

Last month, Parton shared details of her health battle to fans on Instagram, saying she was forced to undergo several medical procedures.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton wrote to fans on Instagram.
“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
Parton joked she was at her “100,000-mile check-up”, adding it had nothing to do with her love of plastic surgery.
Parton went on to say the shows would be postponed, and this wasn’t a retirement announcement.
Parton said: “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.
“But, I believe he is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”

The country megastar said she was forced to cancel that appearance due to kidney stones.
The hitmaker had to get a number of kidney stones removed in 2015.
Earlier this year, Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, died at age 82.
Parton told the US Today show: “Oh, you know what, I get very emotional when people bring it up.
“But we were together 60 years. I’ve loved him since I was 18 years old.”
Parton said she was grateful for the outpouring of love from fans, since her husband’s death.
