On Friday, October 3, 2025, Hamilton Police charged a 26-year-old male following a motor vehicle collision and subsequent investigation that resulted in the seizure of a loaded firearm and controlled substances.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision in the area of King Street East and Fairholt Road North. Witnesses reported that individuals had fled from the involved vehicles on foot.

Members of Division 20’s High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) were in the vicinity at the time of the incident and immediately responded to assist. Their rapid and coordinated actions led to the swift arrest of a suspect nearby on Garfield Avenue South.

The male, identified as 27-year-old Hayden Reccord, was arrested without incident. During a search incident to arrest, officers located a quantity of Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) pills and a loaded Glock 26 handgun equipped with an extended magazine.

The accused was transported to Central Custody and held for a bail hearing. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
