Thiruvananthapuram: Media reports on Saturday claimed that a copy of the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s son, Vivek Kiran, in connection with a money laundering investigation, has surfaced. The summons, addressed to Vivek Kiran at Cliff House, was issued in 2023.
It was reportedly issued against the backdrop of irregularities found during the investigation of the diplomatic gold smuggling case linked to the Life Mission housing scheme. The notice was delivered to his residence at Cliff House.
The notice required Vivek Kiran to report to the ED’s Kochi office on 14 February 2023. It was signed by PK Anand, then Assistant Director at the Kochi ED office.
However, it is learnt that Vivek Kiran did not appear before the ED, and no further action was taken.
