Ireland v Armenia: Boys in Green struggling to break down visitors in must-win World Cup qualifier

Half-time debriefWell, there’s not much to say really. In such a must-win game, that was a dreadful first half by Ireland who have yet to have a shot on target. Armenia dominated the ball for long periods, and should have taken the lead through Eduard Spertsyan just after the half-hour mark. Ireland are sitting so deep, inviting the pressure on and when they do get the ball back, can’t play long because there are no bodies to target. A huge response is needed for the second half, because Ireland are 45 minutes away from their World Cup dreams going up in smoke.
