The 29-year-old has enjoyed one of his best seasons

Adelaide ruck Reilly O’Brien has finalised a three-year contract extension set to keep him at the Club until at least the end of 2028.

The 29-year-old has enjoyed one of his best seasons and currently leads the League in total hit-outs and hit-outs-to-advantage.

O’Brien joined the Crows via Pick Nine in the 2014 Rookie Draft and his resilience and durability have been hallmarks of his career since debuting in 2016.

“Adelaide has become my home over the past 10-11 years and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else. I love this Club, this city and this state,” O’Brien said.

“I’m so proud of how far this group has come over the past few years, and I am very excited and feel very privileged to be a part of this group moving forward.

“I am looking forward to continuing to grow and I am excited for the hard work we have ahead to keep improving and reaching our potential.”

Crows GM List Management Justin Reid described O’Brien as an invaluable part of the Club both on and off the field.

“Reilly has taken his game to another level this year and it’s been on show for all to see,” Reid said.

“Behind the scenes and away from game day, his contribution is equally as important.

“He’s a highly respected team mate and leader who shows genuine care for others, and he has the unique ability to bring people together.

“In terms of building a strong culture and positive environment, Reilly is the type of player every club needs.”
