A man was discovered dead in the middle of a street in Liverpool this afternoon.

Merseyside Police were alerted to Crescent Road, Walton, at approximately 12.20pm today, October 15, after receiving reports that a man had been found.

He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The vicinity was sealed off but this has now been removed.

Nevertheless, a small police presence continues at the location, reports the Liverpool Echo.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, police have confirmed.

Investigations are continuing to formally identify the man.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that officers are in Walton following the sudden death of a man today, Wednesday October 15.

“At around 12.20pm, we were called to Crescent Road off Rice Lane to a man being found. He was sadly confirmed as deceased a short time later.

“At this time, there are no thought to be any suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify him.”
