The search for a missing young woman has come to a tragic end during a reinvigorated search.
Police located the remains of 24-year-old Lucinda Miller in Neerim South, east of Melbourne, on Thursday – exactly three years since she disappeared.
Officials believe she was dropped off by a rideshare driver on McDougal Rd near Whitelaw Track, just outside of the small town, about 11.30am that day, but never made it home..

The anniversary had spurred 60 people to join a renewed search effort of the area, which tragically uncovered her remains.
“Local police would like to extend their thanks to the Neerim South CFA, SES, DEECA and the AFP for their support and assistance,” a statement from Victoria Police reads.
“Her death is not being treated as suspicious.”
Detective Senior Constable Michael Fowler said the new search utilised better technology than initial efforts.
“We are still searching for answers for the family and for the community to try and find out what happened to Lucinda,” he said on Tuesday.
