Jennifer Lawrence attended the Die My Love screening at the London Film Festival this evening — notably not wearing Dior.

A curious move, considering her long-standing ambassadorship with the French house and her recent appearance on the front row for Jonathan Anderson’s Spring 2026 debut. Perhaps she saw what Mia Goth and Greta Lee endured with their tricky Dior looks from the same collection and wisely decided to sit this one out — and honestly, who could blame her?

Instead, Jennifer turned to the timeless elegance of Giorgio Armani, wearing a stunning Armani Privé black silk and velvet halter-neck dress from the Fall 2005 collection. While the flash photography slightly overexposed the image, I selected it as it does reveal the beautiful contrast between the glossy silk and the matte velvet which is completely lost in the darker photos.

Compared to the original design, her version features a softened V-neckline, with the draped hips and rose detail removed. Some might argue these edits dilute the essence of the piece, while others may say they make it even more contemporary.

For me, couture is about precision — a dress tailored to the exact needs of the wearer. Jennifer’s version still embodies that classic Armani Privé refinement, just reinterpreted for her sensibility. But some might argue that the original plunging neckline would have showcased her stunning Glenn Spiro necklace even more perfectly.

Modified or not, this look is a reminder that Armani Privé remains the ultimate definition of red carpet sophistication — and, this was a far stronger choice than her Phoebe Philo outings during the San Sebastián Film Festival.
