Neil deserves huge credit for making the Lions promotion contenders again on a relatively-low budget and they have conceded just four away goals.
Kiwi Max Crocombe, signed in the summer from Burton Albion, was quickly into the action on his league debut for Millwall, saving a rasping volley from Paul Smyth in the opening seconds.
The lively Smyth also saw a left-foot effort glance the top of the bar with Crocombe looking on.
QPR goalkeeper Paul Nardi then made a fine save to touch Will Smallbone’s left-foot drive just over.
Rangers were the better side, but Millwall turned the game on its head to score twice before the end of the first half.
First Billy Mitchell found Azeez with a defence-splitting pass in the 36th minute and he netted his second of the season from the rebound after Nardi parried his first effort.
Then in the fourth minute of added time, Ivanovic nodded home his first of the season from close range from Azeez’s deep cross.
QPR struggled to respond in the second half and their hopes were raised when Koki Saito set up fellow substitute Burrell to pull a goal back five minutes from time.
But Burrell then headed over from a great chance in stoppage time and QPR let Millwall off the hook.
