Destructive winds brought down trees across Victoria on Wednesday, with the State Emergency Services (SES) put through their paces.
In the past 24 hours to Thursday morning, the SES received over 1,450 requests for assistance.
Over 1000 calls were for fallen trees while there were over 300 for building damage.
The top recorded wind speed was 130km/hr at Wilsons Promontory at 8.23pm on Wednesday.
The busiest SES units included the Fawkner, Whitehorse, Whittlesea and Heidelberg.
Victorians have been warned to watch for fallen branches and trees on their way to work or school this morning.
“If you see damaged roads, find a different route to stay safe,” the SES said.
Wind warnings from the Bureau of Meterology remain but only for the East Gippsland Coast, Central Coast and Central Gippsland Coast.
