Sturm Graz are the visitors tonight in the Europa League.

Celtic need to beat the Austrian Bundesliga champions given that, on paper, this is the easiest tie they will face in the league phase.

The Hoops drew with Red Star Belgrade and lost to Braga last time out, so three points are vital not only for the campaign, but for Brendan Rodgers.

Pressure is mounting on his shoulders from fans after just three wins from nine games, so the Northern Irishman needs to find a winning solution.

Celtic Park once again will not be a sell-out due to the ongoing civil war between fans and board, but Sturm Graz fans will fill out the away section.

Sturm Graz fans were handed 2,500 tickets for the encounter tonight, and it has been confirmed by Celtic SLO John Paul Taylor that they have sold out that allocation.

It means the Austrians will deliver a boisterous atmosphere in the lower east corner of Parkhead, in contrast to the muted home sections of the stadium.

Taylor posted on X in reply to a fan asking how many fans Sturm Graz were bringing over: “2500 Kieran, sold their allocation.”

It will have taken five to seven hours roughly for away supporters to make their way from Austria to Scotland given there are no direct flights to Glasgow from Graz.

Rodgers ‘motivated’ to find Celtic solutions

Celtic look slow, laborious, lacking creativity, not scoring enough goals – the list can go on and on.

It’s Rodgers’ responsibility to address these issues, which he says he is ‘motivated’ to do. He said on Wednesday at his presser: “Yeah, I think that’s what I have to do, but at the same time, you’re having to find some level of stability as well.

“I think we’ve obviously had important players injured as well, which makes a difference to our level. But yeah, it’s certainly something, stability is important, and that hopefully allows you to find the tempo and the speed in the game that you actually want, and to deliver the best performance that you can.

“But yeah, I will never stop. I’m so motivated to try and find the solutions to it, and find a way, and use my experience in order to help us get there.”
