The hunt has begun to find Ireland’s latest big Lotto winner, who came remarkable close to taking home the jackpot prize of €2,390,585 in Saturday night’s draw.

The narrowly missed out on the top prize, but the lucky player still secured a hefty €255,100 by matching five of the six numbers, plus the bonus. The winning combination was 3, 21, 35, 36, 42, 43 and bonus 1.

As the mystery winner has yet to come forward, the National Lottery has issued an appeal for all players to carefully check their numbers. As part of the appeal, they have confirmed exactly where the golden ticket was purchased.

It has been revealed that the winning Quick Pick ticket was bought on the day of the draw at Eason in Fairgreen Shopping Centre, Carlow.

The National Lottery is urging players in this area to check their tickets carefully and if you’re holding the winner, contact its claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.

Spokesperson Darragh O’Dwyer said: “A Lotto player in Carlow is certain to be celebrating today after matching five numbers and the bonus in Saturday night’s main Lotto draw to win an incredible €255,100.

“While over 74,000 players won prizes across the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws in the weekend draw, the Carlow player earned themselves the title of biggest winner of the night.

“Today, we are encouraging all our players in Carlow to check their tickets very carefully and to contact our prize claims team as soon as possible.”

Wednesday’s Lotto jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €2.5 million and tickets can be purchased in-store, via the National Lottery app or online at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.45pm cut-off time for sales on Wednesday.

This comes after another Irish player won €13,362 in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw. The National Lottery revealed that the winning ticket was sold in Applegreen Santry Service Station on the Swords Road in Dublin.

Darragh added: “What fantastic news for one of our EuroMillions players in Swords, Co Dublin, huge congratulations to our winner! We’re now urging all players to check their tickets very carefully – you could be holding a winning ticket!”
