An overturned crane in Kerry has led to traffic chaos and delays will last for several days as a major operation gets underway to remove the machinery.
The crane went off the road on the N72 road between Lissivigeen Roundabout and Barraduff village on Tuesday morning, October 28 leading to significant traffic delays.
A single lane traffic system was in operation for the morning but the road has now been closed until 9am Wednesday morning, October 29 to begin preparations to try and remove the equipment.
However, given the size of the machinery it is expected that the removal of the crane will take several days.
Kerry County Council has advised the public that a single lane operation will remain in place on this route for a number of days until the recovery operation is complete.
Road users are advised to observe the traffic management in place in the area.
