A section of the main Glenties to Frosses road remains closed this morning following yesterday’s fatal crash.

A woman in her eighties lost her life following a single vehicle crash near Glenties. She becomes the 11th person so far this year to lose their life on Donegal’s roads.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident which occurred at approximately 3:50pm at Tullynaglaggin, near Kilraine, on the main Glenties to Frosses road. 

The woman, believed to be from the west of the county, was pronounced dead at the scene. A man, aged in his 80s, was also taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

A technical examination of the scene will be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between 3:30pm and 4:00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
