Police have banned a protest planned for Saturday at the Megaron-Athens Concert Hall, which was scheduled to coincide with an event for the new US ambassador, Kimberly Guilfoyle, as well as any related gatherings.
In a statement, police headquarters said it was prohibiting a demonstration entitled “Against the Reception of the Zionist American Ambassador”, organized by the Assembly of Solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance, which had been set to take place at 4.30 p.m. near the venue.
Authorities said they would enforce a ban on all related events for 24 hours from 6 a.m. Saturday in the general area surrounding the concert hall.
