Police are hunting a group of men who racially abused and attacked a woman with a ‘handheld electrical stun device.’

The victim, said to be in her 50s, was on Waddens Brook Lane, Wolverhampton, when she was approached by around four or five men around 6.30pm on Monday (27 October).

The men, in their 20s, were all wearing dark clothing with their hoods up and tried to hit her with a weapon resembling a ‘metal bar.’

They then assaulted her with a handheld electrical stun device.

She sustained pain to her neck and shoulders in the attack.

West Midlands Police have said that at least one of the offenders was described as white and are appealing for information.

The woman’s ethnicity or CCTV has not been released at this stage.

Detective Inspector Racheal Allen, from our Major Crime Unit said: “This was a nasty assault with a racially aggravated element and we’re working hard to find those responsible.

“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information including dashcam footage and CCTV to please contact us.”
