Teri Hatcher has no interest in becoming the plastic surgery face on Wisteria Lane.

The Desperate Housewives alum got candid about her thoughts on cosmetic procedures, saying that while she understands that it can help improve a person’s self-esteem, she wants them to be honest about what it is they’ve had done.

“I have no judgement about how anybody feels good about themselves in their life,” Teri shared on the Oct. 27 of the Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast. “I don’t love when people aren’t truthful about it.”

The 60-year-old explained that while she respects someone’s privacy when it comes to what they’ve done, “When you’re famous and you lie, you’re sort of making the rest of us feel bad about ourselves. Because we look at you and we go, ‘I guess I’m not drinking enough water.’ And that is unfair.”

As for Teri, she has no desire to get nipped and tucked, adding that when people see her on screen, she wants them to see “a real 60-year-old woman.”

“For now—I don’t know what might happen that would make me change my mind—but for now, when I look in the mirror and I think, what is lacking? What am I still struggling with? What would I like to be better at? How would I like to be better? How can I find peace? Things I think a lot of people ask of themselves,” she mused. “My answer is not a facelift. My answer to myself is internal work, it’s intellectual work, it’s emotional work.”

The Lois & Clark actress did admit that if she ever found herself focusing on the “wrinkles in my neck,” she would likely have plastic surgery. But as of now, it’s not for her.

“I have no judgement about it,” she continued, “but I know what I’m searching for. I just know that I have growth to continue to do as a human. My instinct isn’t that the answer is in plastic surgery, which is why I’m not doing it.”

In fact, Teri tries to be as real as she can on social media, as she finds that it “doesn’t just apply to famous people,” but to society as a whole, with many people comparing themselves to what they see online.

However, she will sometimes post photos of herself at events, adding it can be fun and “is an extension of me.”

“But the real me is not that,” she shared. “I put those things out there because I want people to feel OK about just being themselves.”
