Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim confirmed on Thursday that he will be without Lisandro Martinez for the trip to Nottingham Forest and Harry Maguire is a doubt for the clash.
Martinez is a definite absentee following his ACL injury in February. However, the Argentine is back in training ahead of next week’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
Maguire is a doubt having been missing last week. With this in mind, Amorim is likely to stick with the same goalkeeper and back three as last weekend.
Leny Yoro slotted in well in place of Maguire, albeit he was fortunate that Yankuba Minteh ran out of room in the first half when the winger skipped past him. Amad remains one of the undroppables for United following his recent performances.
Diogo Dalot has split opinion this campaign but Patrick Dorgu’s struggles, again against Minteh, probably keep him out of the starting line-up.
Casemiro should keep his place in midfield. The Brazilian is enjoying a renaissance this campaign and was integral to the first half display against Brighton.
Perhaps the main question for Amorim is whether or not Mason Mount is recalled to the starting XI. He was an unused substitute last weekend after picking up a knock in training.
Mount should be fit enough to start against Forest. However, considering how well the front three worked last weekend, Amorim may stick with what worked last time out.
United predicted XI vs Nottingham Forest: Lammens; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Cunha; Sesko
