Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor warned Friday that Israel continues to commit genocide in Gaza, operating under a “quiet and systematic” campaign of extermination despite the ongoing ceasefire.

Since the ceasefire in Gaza, Israel continues to carry out acts amounting to genocide against Palestinians, albeit in a quieter and more systematic manner. The approach involves daily violations of the ceasefire through limited shelling that escalates every few days into widespread attacks targeting civilians in displacement centers, homes, and tents.

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on 10 October, the Israeli army has pursued a policy of gradual escalation, shifting from intermittent strikes to large-scale waves of killing.

Since the ceasefire, 219 Palestinians have been killed, including 85 children, at an average of 10 killed per day, with approximately 600 others injured, an average of 28 injuries per day. These high rates indicate that Israel has not ceased the systematic killing that began more than two years ago.

Alongside daily shelling and shootings, the Israeli army carried out two major attacks: one on 19 October, killing 47 Palestinians, including 20 children and 6 women, and another on 28–29 October, killing 110 Palestinians, including 46 children and 20 women.

Artillery fire, shootings, and building demolitions continued over the past two days, particularly in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Yunis and Gaza City. These actions suggest Israel is consolidating a new reality, allowing itself to conduct continuous military operations in areas it control, covering roughly 50% of Gaza, while removing these areas from the ceasefire framework, without engaging in combat operations aimed solely at destruction or eliminating future livelihoods.

Field monitoring recorded Israeli army movements in Jabalia camp in northern Gaza, including the placement of yellow concrete blocks as warnings, prompting a new wave of displacement affecting hundreds of residents and returning displaced persons attempting to resume normal life in an almost completely destroyed environment.

Field observations during the wide-scale attacks of 28–29 October documented dozens of strikes lacking proportionality and distinction, demonstrating a clear pattern of revenge, collective punishment, and ongoing genocide.

Examples include:
•    In Gaza City, on 28 October, an Israeli airstrike hit the home of the Al-Banna family in the Zeitoun neighborhood, killing 10 civilians, including 4 children and 3 women.
•    Shortly after, an airstrike targeted a civilian vehicle in Khan Yunis, killing a family of five: Ayesh Saadi Ayesh (33), his wife Heba Ghazi Isa Al-Qodra (28), and their children Anas (8), Saadi (6), and Rima (3), with others injured.
•    In Nuseirat camp, two homes of the Abu Dalal family were struck on the early morning of 28 October, killing 18 Palestinians, including 7 children and 3 women.
•    On the same morning, an airstrike hit a displacement tent in Mawasi Khan Yunis, killing 8 people, including a woman and 5 of her children, 3 of whom were minors.
•    A drone strike targeted a displacement tent in Deir al-Balah, killing a couple and their three children from the Al-Attar family.

Attacks continued in Al-Amal neighborhood, Yarmouk Street, and the camps of Bureij, Nuseirat, and Deir al-Balah, flattening homes and turning school shelters into mass graves.

These crimes do not constitute isolated incidents but reflect a deliberate pattern demonstrating the political and military intention to undermine the ceasefire through intermittent killing, keeping military aggression ongoing and enabling genocide under the cover of international silence and political complicity.

Currently, there is evidence of a plan to redraw Gaza’s geographic map, effectively dividing east from west and cutting off large areas in the south (Rafah) and north (Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and parts of Jabalia camp), creating red and yellow zones where Israel assumes full authority over targeting and destruction, supported by the United States.

This division effectively dismantles Gaza’s geographic unity, makes large areas uninhabitable, and forces the population toward forced displacement as the only means of survival.

Targeting tents, schools sheltering displaced persons, and killing children, women, and journalists constitutes a flagrant violation of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949, demonstrating intent to maximize casualties and instill terror among civilians.

The continued silence of the international community and its failure to activate accountability mechanisms effectively gives Israel a green light to continue mass killings, entrenching a new phase of slow genocide aimed at ending Palestinian presence in Gaza.

Immediate action is required to protect civilians, halt all shelling and blockades, ensure the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and launch an international accountability mechanism for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide in Gaza.
