Nov. 3 (UPI) — Actress Kristen Wiig is set to receive the inaugural Icon Award at the WIF 2025 Honors, WIF, formerly Women in Film, announced Monday.
She will be acknowledged during the Nov. 6 ceremony, a press release states.
WIF CEO Kirsten Schaffer described Wiig as “the perfect embodiment of the award.”
According to the press release, the honor showcases “storytellers whose artistry and unforgettable performances have captured the zeitgeist, defining a generation and shaping the cultural landscape.”
“Her singular voice and unforgettable performance have brought endless laughter and raw honesty to audiences everywhere,” Schaffer said in her statement. “Whether she is playing Gilly on SNL, or Annie in Bridesmaids or Maxine in Palm Royale, her work has left an indelible mark on American culture.”
Previously announced honorees include Jamie Lee Curtis, Regina King, Tessa Thompson, Nia DaCosta, Dede Gardner, Gabrielle Nadig, Mara Brock Akil, Judy Blume and Maude Apatow.
Presenters and moderators include Karen Pittman, Francesca Amiker and Mandalit Del Barco.
