Friday the 31st of October was a proud day for Donegal Town’s Evan Gorrell as he graduated with a Master of Education in Leadership and Mentoring from Mary Immaculate College (MIC) Thurles.
Evan is a Business and Computer Science teacher at Errigal College Letterkenny.
His latest qualification builds on a strong academic journey with MIC Thurles. In 2024 he completed a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Mentoring, and in 2020 he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education with Business Studies and Accounting in 2020, graduating virtually due to COVID.

The 2025 conferring ceremony marked a historic occasion as it was the first held in Thurles since MIC’s incorporation of St Patrick’s College in 2016.
In total, 127 graduates received Bachelor of Arts in Education awards across subject areas including Accounting, Business Studies, Religious Studies, Gaeilge, and Mathematics. Postgraduate certificates, diplomas, and master’s degrees in Mentoring and Middle Leadership in Primary and Post-primary Settings were also conferred.
