Thirty-one people have been injured in a crash in the Rotorua suburb of Ōwhata last night.
St John says it sent five ambulances and two helicopters to the scene at about 9.15pm.
One person was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
Another in a critical condition was taken to Rotorua hospital, along with four people with moderate injuries.
A further 26 people had minor injuries.
The police have been approached for comment.
