Police at the time told the ABC her death was being treated as “suspicious” and they believed Ms Austin sustained the injury by falling or attempting to run through a glass screen door about 7:40am.

Emergency services arrived at the scene at Randwick Street after responding to reports from neighbours concerned about Ms Austin’s welfare.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, but died a day later from her injuries.

Following an investigation under Strike Force Lyndoch detectives on Thursday arrested a 44-year-old man known to Ms Austin at a home in Little Bay.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with murder (DV) and intend abusive behaviour towards intimate partner (coercive control).
