Gardaí appealing for witnesses – road remains closed

An elderly woman was killed in a single vehicle crash in Co. Tipperary overnight.
The collision occurred in Toomevara, Nenagh, sometime between midnight and 2.20am this morning.
The sole occupant of the car, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Coroner was notified and the deceased has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The road remains closed at the scene of the crash, which is being preserved pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Traffic diversions are in place.
Now, Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12 midnight and 2.30am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
