AFLW stars Georgie Prespakis and Charlie Rowbottom have created history this season, becoming the first AFLW players to ever be selected in the AFL Players’ Association 22Under22 team five times.
Only Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli has ever achieved the feat in the men’s competition, with the pair surpassing Prespakis’ sister, Madison, and Monique Conti, who had each been selected in the final side four times.
Both Prespakis and Rowbottom brought up their respective 50-game milestones in the league this season, with the latter particularly well-regarded for her ball-winning ability.

West Coast is home to the most number of players who made the final cut, with all of Georgie Cleaver, Lucia Painter, Ella Roberts and Charlotte Thomas selected after the club made their maiden finals campaign.
The Eagles had five players nominated in the 44-person squad released late last month, while Port Adelaide had only two of their six players initially listed make the final team.
Roberts from West Coast was named captain of the side, while Prespakis was appointed as the side’s vice-captain.

Fans selected the final team from an initial 44-person squad compiled by inaugural AFLW player Kate McCarthy as Chair of Selectors, with support from the AFLPA and Champion Data.
For a player to be eligible for selection in the squad, they must be 22 and under for the entirety of the season (including Grand Final Day, 29 November) and have played at least five matches throughout 2025.
