A woman in her 80s has died after being struck by multiple vehicles on a carriageway near Devizes, Wiltshire.

The collision occurred Friday, November 14 on the A361 Caen Hill.

Police were alerted to the incident at 18:13 after a woman was struck by a vehicle near Mayenne Place.

One vehicle stopped, but police say other drivers of vehicles may have unknowingly struck the woman.

Sergeant James Barrett, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident in which an elderly woman has lost her life, and our thoughts are with her family.

“We are urgently working to establish the full circumstances of the collision.

“We are also keen to speak with any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage from that time.”

The road has been kept closed while police continue to investigate. No arrests have been made.
