Wilfried Nancy is widely expected to become the new Celtic manager.
The Frenchman is reportedly on his way to Glasgow as Nancy begins talks with Celtic to take over from Brendan Rodgers.
Nancy is highly-regarded in the MLS and it appears that people within the Celtic Park corridors are impressed with him as well.
However, at 48 and having managed just two clubs, questions remain over whether or not Nancy is right for Celtic at this moment in time.
Well, according to journalist Michael Gannon, those questions may well be premature after what he’s hearing from the US about the current Columbus Crew boss.

With Nancy having no experience of managing a ‘big club’ like Celtic, fans may be worried about how he can close the gap in the title race to Hearts.
Not to worry, says Gannon.
Gannon wrote in the Daily Record, “Make no mistake, it’s still a major gamble making the Columbus Crew head coach the no.1 target and the man who looks set to take charge.
“He is a relative rookie and this is a time when the Hoops have needed every minute of Martin O’Neill’s 73-years of experience on this earth to steady the ship and keep the wolves from the door.
“But, when speaking to folk Stateside, it’s clear Nancy is no mug. Far from it.”
‘People around’ Wilfried Nancy say he can handle Celtic job
Every Celtic fan knows that the pressure of being the Parkhead boss can weigh heavy on even the most experienced of managers.
But Gannon shares how Nancy’s ‘people’ believe that he will handle it perfectly fine.
Gannon continued, “Unconventional and untried at European level, yes, but he does have a bit about him. There’s no doubting him as a coach. But that’s only the first tick on the checklist required in these parts.
“It’s how can he handle all the other madness? Managers need ear plugs for the noise in Glasgow and it’s sent many an experienced gaffer round the bend.
“That’s where the gamble comes in. The people around him reckon he’ll handle the heat, and he’s clearly convinced Desmond, who had a similar tingle in his gut on that zoom call with Postecoglou a few years ago.”
The truth is, no one really knows if any manager is good enough for Celtic until they are in the job, never mind Nancy.
If he does get it, there is no doubt Celtic fans will be right behind the Frenchman from the minute he walks through those Parkhead glass doors.
