The Wallabies’s losing run on their spring tour continues, as Ireland recording a convincing, record-breaking 46-19 victory on home soil.

Ireland ran in six tries, with Australia-born full back Mack Hansen scoring a first half hat-trick, to record their biggest ever winning margin against the Wallabies in Test matches.

Hansen was sublime, winning the aerial duals that Ireland — and so many other teams — have identified as a major Wallabies weakness.

But his tries were all built off the back of sharpness of mind and play by the brilliant Jamison Gibson-Park and the impressive Sam Prendergast.

“It feels unbelievable,” Hansen, who was born in Canberra and played for the Brumbies early in his career, said.

“Any chance to play at the Aviva in front of these fans is unbelievable and to do it in the style we did, it’s obviously a good sign ahead of the Springboks.

“I literally just had to grab the ball and run over the line, I didn’t really have to do too much.

“I wasn’t necessarily born here and didn’t grow up here, but this feels like home for me.

“Any time I get to play for Ireland, it’s a privilege.”

Those three tries put the Wallabies on the back foot, but Len Ikitau and Fraser McReight scored just before the break to keep the Wallabies well in touch at 19-14 down.

But the second half was all Ireland, with Billy Pollard’s late score only a consolation as the Aussies’ losing run continues.

Three Irish tries in the last 10 minutes from Caelan Doris, Ryan Baird and a show-stopper from Robbie Henshawin stoppage time, sealed a hugely impressive victory for the Irish.

The Wallabies were still in the game late on, earning a five-metre line out with the score at 22-14 just 15 minutes remaining.

However, that was overthrown, one of six blown line outs for the Wallabies, and the Irish took full advantage, scoring just moments later, with Nick Frost sent to the sin bin to boot.

“I thought we showed a lot of character in that first half,” skipper Harry Wilson told Stan Sport.

“They just put it on us in the kick battle, they won the high balls, out line out wasn’t functioning. It really did hurt us.

“Saying that, 15 minutes to go, we had a line out 5 metres out, we score there it’s game on but we over-threw. It’s Test match footy, we’ve got to win those big moments.

“It’s hugely disappointing. The game was there for us.

“It’s really disappointing because we’re better than that.”

Ireland has now won five straight games against the Wallabies, a new record.

Australia has lost nine Test matches in a calendar year for just the fourth time in their history, with one more Test, against France in Paris, to come.

So, a disappointing defeat for the Wallabies.

Another, disappointing defeat.

They came into this match very much second favourites.

But during the game, confidence perhaps should have built that this Ireland team are not the team they used to be.

Instead, too many basic errors cost the Wallabies any chance of getting the win and the losing run against Ireland continues.

Another defeat, another record-breaking defeat, and the end of this season can’t quite come soon enough.

There is still one game to play though, against France in Paris.

France did struggle against Fiji overnight, winning 34-21 at the Stade de France.

Fiji has had a good tour, with some honourable efforts against England and now France.

Can the Wallabies restore some pride against the French next week?

‘The synchronisation just wasn’t there’: Joe Schmidt

Here’s Joe Schmidt.

“Tough one to take,” Schmidt tells Stan Sport.

“[We were] In the game for the first 60 minutes,

“We had a line out just there in the corner. If we get something out of that we’re within a score with 20 to go and we’re right in the game.

“We really chased the game in the last 10 minutes … and it can get away from you.

“That scoreboard got away from us, I honestly believe it’s not because the players stopped working hard.”

He says that the Wallabies were well in the game at half time.

“At half time we felt relatively confident that we could get back into the game,” Schmidt said.

“They conceded a lot of penalties in that first half … and we felt that if we could keep squeezing them, but I think they had about 70 per cent possession in the second half.

“The synchronisation just wasn’t there.”

‘We’ve got to win those big moments’: Wilson

Harry Wilson is disappointed, as you might expect.

But he thinks that the Wallabies could have done more in that game.

And I have to say, I agree with him.

“I thought we showed a lot of character in that first half,” Wilson says on Stan Sport.

“We weren’t playing too good with the footy but we found a way to be in the game at the half, and we had a lot of confidence coming into that second half.

“That got drowned out.

“They just put it on us in the kick battle, they won the high balls, out line out wasn’t functioning. It really did hurt us.

“Saying that, 15 minutes to go, we had a line out 5 metres out, we score there it’s game on but we over threw. It’s Test match footy, we’ve got to win those big moments.

“It’s hugely disappointing. The game was there for us.

“It’s really disappointing because we’re better than that.”

He says that the Wallabies need to be better under the high balls, while admitting he wouldn’t want to be under them in wet conditions.

“Teams are targeting us there, we’ve got to be better,” he says.

It’s still early

Thank goodness I didn’t buy a subscription to watch the Wallabies. I will spend it on drink instead!

– Peter

Maybe wait a little while, Peter.

It’s still quite early in the morning, after all.

It’s been a rough tour…

I think all that hope from the lions tour has officially gone watching this passage.

– Anthony

Don’t worry though, it’s only France in Paris next week…

Mack Hansen is player of the match

Good news folks, an Australia-born player was named man of the match.

Disappointingly, he was in Ireland green.

“It feels unbelievable. Any chance to play at the Aviva in front of these fans is unbelievable and to do it in the style we did, it’s obviously a good sign ahead of the Springboks,” he says.

“That’s the pleasure of playing in this team, I literally just had to grab the ball and run over the line, I didn’t really have to do too much.

“I’ve had a pretty bang average run with injuries  and I miss being in this team.

“I wasn’t necessarily born here and didn’t grow up here, but this feels like home for me.

“Any time I get to play for Ireland, it’s a privilege.”

Brilliant. Brutal.

A sublime Irish display in Dublin as the Wallabies are spanked 46-19.

It’s the first time Ireland have won five games in a row against the Wallabies.

It’s the most number of points the Irish have ever scored against the Wallabies.

It’s the largest ever winning margin by the Irish against the Wallabies too.

Ouch.

Oh that is so, so brilliant from Ireland.

Two cross field kicks. A dummy from the replacement hooker and a sublime finish.

Ireland are having a ball out there at the moment and have crushed the Wallabies with their best try of the night.

The kick is good.

I don’t think motivation is an issue

The Wallabies are having a shocker. Where’s the motivation for getting a win under their belts after a couple of losses? I’m not seeing it

– Tracey

They have played with real heart in the first half here.

But some of the basic skill errors have been poor.

That’s not a motivation thing. That’s a talent thing.

16h agoSat 15 Nov 2025 at 9:58pm78′ Ireland has another!

Brutal. Bundee Aki powers over the gain line after Ireland win the line out.

The Wallabies are on the back foot and Ryan Baird just powers over with a couple of Wallabies hanging onto him.

Ireland 39-19 Wallabies.

77′ Ireland penalty

Fraser McReight is upset, but he goes past the ball in the ruck to make things untidy for the Wallabies.

“You’re past it,” the referee says.

Brutal.

Anyway, that all came after Ireland bought out the style with some outrageous flicks and passes down the line.

16h agoSat 15 Nov 2025 at 9:53pm74′ The Wallabies get one back

Billy Pollard scores!

Good from Pollard and the Wallabies.

The Irish are calling for a knock on but the referee says there was nothing there amidst the suffocating silence of an unimpressed Dublin crowd.

Tane Edmed is going to have to kick from the sideline, and he misses it.

It remains Ireland 32-19 Wallabies.

16h agoSat 15 Nov 2025 at 9:50pm71′ Yellow card to Nick Frost

That’s a hammer blow for the Wallabies.

Nick Frost tackled an Irishman off the ball, and landed his shoulder into the neck area.

It’s a yellow card, will likely stay a yellow card, but regardless the Wallabies are down to 14 for the rest of the match.

17h agoSat 15 Nov 2025 at 9:47pm70′ Ireland score through Caelan Doris!(Getty Images)

Wave after wave after wave of Irish forwards pound upon the Wallabies defensive line.

It came after Mack Hansen got up and won a kick.

From then on, the pressure was immense, the waves of attack matched only by the roaring from the Dublin crowd.

The ball spins out to the skipper, who drives over.

68′ Wallabies with the goal line drop out

Moments after being five metres from the Irish line, after a passage of kicking tennis, the Wallabies have to kick from under their own posts.

Jamison Gibson-Park with an outrageous dummy to create space before boxing it down to the Wallabies try line.

17h agoSat 15 Nov 2025 at 9:43pm

65′ Horrible Wallabies lineout throw

That’s very poor from the Wallabies line out.

The sixth lost line out that the Wallabies have had this game.

That’s just unacceptable at international level.
