Sources have told ABC News that Governor Tim Walz will be stepping away from the National Governors Association.
The National Governors Association (NGA) is a bipartisan national organization that brings together the chief executives of all 50 states to work toward bipartisan policy solutions.
ABC News was informed by sources that Governor Walz and Kansas Governor Laura Kelly would both sever ties with the organization.
Walz was reportedly cutting ties with the NGA and stopping payment to the organization next year as he is “reassessing” his membership.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has reached out to Governor Tim Walz’s office to confirm his departure from the NGA and to inquire about his reasoning for doing so.
Should a response be provided, this article will be updated to detail the Governor’s response.
