Tonight, Richard will perform his Can’t Stop Me Now tour at the Christchurch Town Hall, more than 12 years after he last performed for Kiwi audiences in 2013.
The 85-year-old British singer and actor has sold in excess of 250 million records worldwide, securing his place among the best-selling artists of all time.
He remains the only artist to achieve top-five albums across eight consecutive decades in Britain and in 1995 became the first pop star to receive a knighthood, which he received for his philanthropic endeavours.
Just down the road, Presley will be at the Isaac Theatre Royal for her An Evening with Priscilla Presley, Life After Elvis tour.
The show is expected to offer a raw insight into Presley’s time at Graceland, her marriage to the King of Rock and Roll and her journey after separating from him in 1973.
It will be the first time the 80-year-old New York native has come to New Zealand for a show of her own.
