A SECTION of the N20 Limerick to Cork road has been closed this Tuesday morning following a serious road traffic collision.
The single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred in the townland of Ballyfookoon between Croom and Patrickswell shortly before 1am, confirmed gardai.

“The motorcyclist, a male aged in his 20s, was removed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.
“The N20 road remains closed this morning between the N21 and O’Rourke’s Cross to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
“Local diversions are in place,” said a garda spokesperson. One motorist said traffic is “chaotic” with long delays.
A total of eight fire appliances from stations in the city, Rathkeale and Kilmallock responded to the emergency. Firefighters from Kilmallock and Rathkeale remain at the scene this morning.
Gardaà are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
“Any road users who may have relevant camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaÃ.
