The Maple Leafs are struggling mightily as of late, and after a tough loss to Montreal, Head Coach Craig Berube has ripped into his team and their performance.

This season was once again expected to be another good one in Toronto, but through their first 22 games this season, the Maple Leafs are 9-10-3, which has them sitting near the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference.

On Saturday, they had a chance to pick up some momentum against a Montreal Canadiens team that have lost seven of their last eight games coming into the matchup, but unfortunately, the team had injury issues of their own.

Unfortunately, injuries or not, the Maple Leafs were blown away by the rival Canadiens, losing a tough one 5-2, and unsurprisingly, Head Coach Craig Berube took aim at his team after the performance.

Until we decide to dig in and play the right way for 60 minutes on a consistent basis, it’s going to be hard to pull yourselves out of anything.

Clearly, Berube is growing as frustrated as Maple Leafs fans and anyone that watches this team consistently, as they’ve struggled to score and keep the puck out of their own net, ranking 30th in the league in team GAA this season with a 3.67 mark.

Ultimately, this appears to be a team that’s struggled to adapt to the loss of Mitch Marner, and given their injuries and lack of elite talent at all three levels, if nothing changes soon, this is a team that could continue to struggle throughout the season.
