THE MAIN Limerick to Cork has reopened following a serious collision in the early hours of this Tuesday morning.

The single vehicle incident involving a motorcyclist occurred on the N20 between Croom and Patrickswell shortly before 1am. A man, aged in his 20s, was rushed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment for “serious injuries”.

The road was closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardai and Limerick Fire and Rescue Service implemented a major traffic plan.

There were long traffic delays for some due to the volume of traffic having to be diverted onto local roads.

The main road has since reopened following the conclusion of the technical examination.
